Hike Club is Back For August! 🥾

We’ve got two runs this week with Hike Club on Saturday!

Plus a few updates inside Heylo!

Thursday’s Route

Thursday 08/21

Thursday’s route is an 5k down to Santa Monica Boulevard, up Beloit and back to the park. It’s square(ish) with a slight uphill on SMB

Hope to see everyone at 6pm! It’s gonna be a hot one, maybe we hit Sawtelle for some ice cream?? 🍦🍨

Saturday Hike Club 08/23

Hike club is hiking Backbone Trail to Sandstone Peak on Saturday

Hike to start at 9AM

You can meet at Stoner Park on Missouri and Stoner to carpool at 8AM

Milad is out of town so no banana bread this month RIP

Backbone Trail to Sandstone Peak and Mishe Mokwa Trail Loop

This is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains. Highlights include the spectacular Echo Cliffs where rock climbers ascend the cliffs. There are stunning sandstone formations and breathtaking views from the top of Sandstone Peak and Inspiration Point.

Sunday Run 08/24

Sunday’s run is a breezy run through Sawtelle!

We’ll be running on the east side of Sawtelle down over Olympic, take the Expo Bike path to Sawtelle down Ohio and loop around to Good People for some coffee!

Sawtelle Community Bike Ride Saturday August 30th

Brendan, local Sawtelle resident and run club regular is hosting an all-skill-level community bike ride from Sawtelle to Palisades Park and back (about 6 miles total)

We will take a break in the middle to enjoy the ocean view and grab a treat from Go Greek Yogurt

Don't have a bike? No problem! You can rent one from the Metro!

9AM - Meet at the Expo/Bundy Metro Bike Station - 12201 Exposition Blvd

Sawtelle Community Bike Ride

Dolores Park Day at Stoner Park September 6th

There’s a giant picnic happening at Stoner Park on September 6th at 11AM!

Let’s go to Stoner Park and pretend like it’s Dolores Park for a day! For those of you who don’t know, Dolores Park is a beautiful park in San Francisco where locals go to just… hang out! We have beautiful parks just like it here in LA (a la Stoner Park), but don’t appreciate them enough! SO, let’s get together on Saturday, September 6 at 11AM and just… hang out! Bring picnic blankets, snacks, and a all your friends! Of course, let’s be kind and respectful to our public spaces and make sure to clean up pristinely. Then, let’s keep it going!
